Basler offer two options for improved intertie protection:
The BE1-IPS100 is a multifunction numerical Intertie Protection System that meets protection and control requirements outlined in IEEE Intertie Protection Standard 1547-2003 for the majority of applications. It provides three phase, ground, and negative sequence directional or non-directional time and instantaneous overcurrent protection with sync check and conditional voltage reclosing. For more information, see Bulletin URB.
If your application requires up to eight frequency elements or enhanced voltage elements, consider the
BE1-11i.
The BE1-11i is a multifunction numeric Intertie Protection relay that meets protection and control requirements outlined in the Intertie Protection Standard IEEE Standard No.: 1547
-2003, and California Energy Commission Rule 21 for the majority of applications. For more information, download Bulletin URI.
Download Application Note PC-IPS01 for details on an under frequency load shedding protection solution that meets
NPCC regulatory change in the Northeastern United States.

Upgrading Intertie Protection to meet TX PU Standards
This paper is an enhanced version of what was presented at the Texas A&M Conference. It describes the process of a
wastewater facility utilizing multifunction relays as the sole means of protection, not only for the plant and its generation,
but also for the utility by separating the facility system from the utility feeder in accordance with the rules of the Texas Public Utility Commission.
Upgrading Intertie Protection to Meet Texas Public Utility Commission Rules Expanded (WPRC version) - This case
history points out differences between the Texas PUC rules and IEEE Standard 1547 “Interconnecting Distributed
Resources with Electric Power Systems" plus the voltage operating requirements of some utilities who are members of WECC.
