Many electric system operators need to modernize their protection and control systems in existing facilities. For those who seek to improve reliability and decrease maintenance and
operating costs by taking advantage of the flexibility, data recording, and self checking capabilities of microprocessor-based relays, Basler Electric offers optional case configurations
that are designed to fit in the same space as the unit case relays that they functionally replace.
All Basler numeric relays are available in cases that are retrofit friendly. For instance, the BE1-1051,-CDS220, and -CDS240 are available in the vertically oriented MX case to fit into the space used by many GE and WH/ABB electromechanical relays. In the S1 case used by the BE1-851, -951, -GPS, and -IPS relays, Basler can provide customers with the benefits of numeric relays, such as programmable logic, more I/O, detailed event reports, metering, communication ports utilizing Modbus or DNP, with no additional panel cutting needed.
Other Basler products are also adaptable. For example, the BE1-BPR Breaker Protection Relay is available in both a horizontal 19" rack mount version and a vertical version that fits cutout and drilling dimensions for common Basler, GE, and Westinghouse breaker failure and fault detector relays. This can save you significant costs in upgrading existing facilities.
