Basler
Electric Expands its Capabilities to
Secure Our Future
Basler Electric is pleased to
announce it has finalized the purchase
of Stellar Plastics Inc., a full service
custom injection molding company located
in San Marcos, TX. Stellar, now a wholly
owned subsidiary of Basler Electric
Company, will operate under the name
Basler Plastics and will continue
to produce high quality components for
its diversified customer base.
The main focus of Basler Plastics is its extensive internal tooling
capabilities, which provide a one-stop
solution for plastic parts and assembly
needs. The experienced technical project
development team can help develop
product concepts, analyze product
designs and conduct mold tooling design
analysis. Since tooling is built
“in-house”, the delivery of products to
the customer is expedited and the
quality of the final product is more
closely controlled. An extensive quality
system, which has contributed to ISO
9001:2008 certification, is in place to
ensure that customers’ expectations are
consistently met.
The addition of Stellar to the Basler
family of high quality products
accomplishes Basler Electric’s goals to
grow and provide security to its
employees. The acquisition brings a
supplemental supply of plastic parts
used in existing Basler products,
including transformers, voltage
regulators and protective relays. This
provides a secure source of parts that
are crucial to our processes and insures
our final customers receive the highest
quality and the most stable supply of
parts possible.
In today’s unstable
economic climate, looking to the future
and safeguarding a source of supply for
critical items is essential to the
success of our customers and Basler
Electric Company.
Basler Electric is pleased to
introduce its latest Digital Excitation
Control System, the
DECS-2100.
The DECS-2100 incorporates a new
controller that is ideal for providing
exceptional system response. The
combination of its microprocessor-based
platform, fiber-optic rectifier bridge
firing control, and online
maintenance-capable rectifier bridges
(N+1 designs) offers the highest system
performance possible while providing
excitation currents up to 10,000 Adc on
systems ranging from 1 to 1300 MW.
This new product is based upon
Basler’s design experiences and
knowledge base in excitation control
dating back to the early1970s, from
Shunt Static Exciter technologies to
more recent Digital Excitation Control
Systems, including the DECS-400 and
ECS2100, both proven global leaders in
excitation control. These products have
provided control to tens of thousands of
GW in installed generation worldwide.
The most effective way to react to
system disturbances is to use a system
that can be tailored to suit specific
application needs. The DECS-2100 is the
system that will allow you to accomplish
this with more enhanced features in a
more user-friendly environment.
The new Graphic User Interface
Software, BESTCOMS™Pro is an
easy-to-use software tool for
configuring, monitoring, and maintaining
the DECS-2100 Digital Excitation Control
System. It also is used to change
settings for the various limiting and
protection functions, download new
system firmware, and retrieve diagnostic
information. A USB port or an optional
Ethernet port enables local
communication between the Controller and
a PC operating with the BESTCOMSPro
software or with the IDP-1200
Interactive Display Panel featuring a.
12.1 inch color touch screen that can be
mounted locally on the excitation
cubicle, remotely in the control room,
or at both locations.
The DECS-2100 is the next generation
multi-microprocessor digital excitation
control system that provides advanced
technology to precisely control,
protect, and monitor synchronous
generators and motors for new and
existing applications that are driven by
all types of prime movers, such as
steam, gas, hydro, and diesel.
