Description
Position requires travel to various site installations for system startup, for system maintenance, or for training seminars on systems or devices manufactured by Basler and other manufacturers. Design, build, and evaluate equipment required for jobs and projects. Requires minimum supervision.

Essential Duties
- Be capable of analyzing circuits used in Basler devices and other manufacturers’ devices.
- Be capable of designing circuits used in Basler devices.
- Coordinate with the Field Service and Training Coordinator and the customer to schedule service trips.
- Write trip reports describing in detail the system, the tests conducted, and actions taken. Review with the design engineering group any system problem and the solution, if implemented.
- Travel to customer site to oversee installations of equipment, to perform system start up or required maintenance, to provide instructions for customer maintenance, and to repair equipment.
- Design, build, and test breadboard and engineering prototype units required for jobs or projects with minimal supervision.
- Conduct tests requiring selection and adaptation of test equipment and modification of test procedures.
- Evaluate reports on component and equipment failures and recommend solution.
- Represent Basler Electric while at customer facility. Will typically be the only technical person on the site.
- Assist Sales in the determination of cost responsibility.
- Provide technical support while at Basler’s facilities.
- Assist in writing and help refine Instruction and Service Manuals.
- Write test procedures, test reports, failure analysis or prediction reports, design forms, and other projects or reports as assigned.
- Assist with writing and design of Sales Product Bulletins, Leaflets, or other Sales Documentation.
- Coordinate required drawings, sketches, or other artwork with appropriate personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BSEE or equivalent.
- 6–10 years’ experience in design or field service engineering is desired.
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive travel (approximately 70%) worldwide with little advance notice.

Compensation
We anticipate filling the Sr. Field Service Engineer position with an expected compensation range of $96,000 – $113,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. Starting pay and job title are based on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
